I am a mother, scientist, educator, researcher, and small business owner bringing expertise in natural resources, environmental science, and public education.

As a 3rd-generation South Dakotan, I grew up in Rapid City and am a long-time resident of Spearfish.

I was inspired to run for office to be a good steward in protecting our lands, water, and air and to invest in our public schools for generations to come.

I've spent my career studying the natural resources that sustain our communities and teaching the students who will inherit them. My research career has been devoted to understanding and protecting natural systems: land, water, ecology, and natural resources. I'll bring science-based stewardship to South Dakota's trust lands and make decisions based on evidence, transparency, and long-term results. As a science educator, I've also committed to investing in South Dakota students.

As Commissioner, I'll make sure our trust lands continue investing in them as well. The Commissioner isn't just managing today's lands—we're protecting tomorrow's schools.

The Commissioner must collaborate as a bipartisan steward, working with diverse communities. I have extensive experience collaborating with universities, Tribal communities, educators, health professionals, and nonprofit organizations.

I promise to fulfill the statutory duties of the office while applying my background as a scientist, educator, and community leader. I will do this by focusing on stewardship, fiscal responsibility, accountability, and the long-term interests of South Dakota's public schools.
